I’ve always had a very clear idea of how I want Elite to be different. It’s one of the things that I’m most proud of. Many businesses say that they have a vision, but very few manage to truly live it in the way that we do, day-to-day. A lot of that is to do with the great team that we have here. They all share my obsession with providing an unrivalled service and always putting our clients first.

I founded Elite because I wasn’t happy with so much of what I was seeing in the industry. I really want to raise the bar for service levels. That’s about helping my own clients with proactive, high quality advice – but also pushing standards up across the whole industry too. It’s what I believe in, and I put my heart and soul into it every day.

We’re all about making a positive impact for people. And that goes way beyond the service we provide – we also show it through our commitment to our local community. We each have causes that we’re passionate about.

I’m always looking for ways to help local kids, for example through our support for the renovation of Riverside Park in Ilkley. It’s important for me to contribute back to the local community – and it’s the park I went to as a kid, so it’s brilliant to have this opportunity to help the many generations to come.

I immediately bought into what Joel and the team are trying to do with Elite. It feels like something fresh and different in the industry. A business that doesn’t stand still, that’s proactive and that puts people and providing the highest quality service above everything else.

We’ve set a clear vision and we’re focused on delivering that for all of our clients. I want to do everything I can now to make sure that we achieve our goals and that we keep growing sustainably. The business is on an exciting journey and I’m so excited to be a part of that.

We’re a group of people who believe in what they do and who want to help people. You see it in the way that everyone gives back to the community we’re a part of. Elite even sponsor the cricket team that I played for – Steeton Cricket Club – that has been and continues to be a big part of my life.

Elite are doing something that I haven't seen anywhere else in the industry. We have such a focus here on always providing the highest quality service - it's all about the client and that is pretty rare.

I see this as a chance to make an impact on the industry by doing things differently – but most of all to truly deliver for the clients who need our help. Everyone is operating within a tough and volatile economic climate at the moment. The way that I see it, anything we can do to help people to achieve their fullest potential by maximising their profits and minimising the taxes they need to pay has to help. It gives people peace of mind and allows them to focus on growing their business.

This is a special place to work in many ways - not least because of how we give back to the local community. We sponsor my son's football team (Sutton Juniors) and Joel also coaches the Under 7s there. It's great to know we're helping the next generation to develop and thrive.
